lost... and found

Lost: 4236 photos from SD card
Found: an app to recover almost all of them
Lost: SD card died as a result, lost a week of the 52 project
Found: the ability to enjoy the little moments without seeing a potential blog post and having to capture it

Lost: a bestie to her gorgeous new abode in the South West (above)
Found: the revelation that hearts are still near, despite distances
{and a different way to do cuppas together (involving a phone, and each of us in our own kitchens!)}

Lost: the guilt/shame/feeling of unworthiness at having failed at a friendship at the end of last year
Found: the freedom that comes from realising the health of my own heart has improved as a result of the loss

Lost: last year's middle child
Found: a little girl ready for full-time school, confident in the water, and improved in speech

Lost: the need to impress, keep up, compare
Found: the simple life

{There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth:

A right time for birth and another for death,
A right time to plant and another to reap,
A right time to kill and another to heal,
A right time to destroy and another to construct,
A right time to cry and another to laugh,
A right time to lament and another to cheer,
A right time to make love and another to abstain,
A right time to embrace and another to part,
A right time to search and another to count your losses,
A right time to hold on and another to let go,
A right time to rip out and another to mend,
A right time to shut up and another to speak up,
A right time to love and another to hate,
A right time to wage war and another to make peace}

  2. aw Em! I'm sorry for your losses but so heartwarmed by your founds. Life is full of losses and founds, ups, down, ebbs, flows, mole hills and mountains. Sometimes those losses make us really questions what it is we need and how it will make us a better person. wishing you a very magical weekend xx

    1. Hey Kristy, the app is called CardRaider Photo Recovery. It was brilliant... the photos were seriously gone, and not even my computer or camera could find them. But this app found them and I could re-save them into my iPhoto. Phew!!! x

  4. Well said Em! Life seems to be full of contradictions but also makes perfect sense. I am so glad that the Lord orders the seasons of my life and growth comes out of the dreams and chaos..somehow!
