toffee apple red

The last few days of our autumn school holidays have found us lazing about in the back yard and soaking up the glorious sunshine, going out to the movies ('Rio' so cute, and such a novelty!), and today, making toffee apples.

Oh the excitement! The oohs and aahs at the saucepan full of bubbling red sweetness! The sticky faces and hands after...

We didn't just make toffee apples, we made memories!

>Besides the autumn poets sing,
A few prosaic days
A little this side of the snow
And that side of the haze.

~Emily Dickinson

  1. I don't know what it is about toffee apples but they draw all children in with their charm. They are such a vivid childhood memory for me but were only a treat for when we went to galas and fairs.
