rain, rain. [go away] pt 2

Sometimes the rain is set in. Like it is today. The skies are grey; not dark and stormy, just a flat grey, all the way to the horizon. The rain is constant, steady.
Like the constant downpour of rough night sleeps, busy yet unproductive days, tiredness - not just tiredness, but weariness, which is worse.
And it seems set in. And stretches as far as we can see. All the way to the horizon.

But y'know. Rain is good. It's refreshing. The long, steady stream of rain nourishes not just the topsoil but goes deep down to the roots. It makes things strong.

There is grace along with the rain.

"...we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." Romans 5:3-5

  2. Loving reading your blog this week. Keep up the inspiring work!
2011 will be our year Mrs H. These rain clouds with their flat weariness are going to blow over. Because of their precipitation we will be able to cherish the sweetness of spring - I see new shoots of green from a dewy ground... a fresh start blooming into sweet smelling daffidols. Smell that lovely damp fresh smell and revel in the fresh start that it precedes.
